Strasbourg Day 4 - Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas Eve!

Our Christmas Eve was a little different from our traditional 7 fish. We woke up to some coffee & croissants. Played board games and just relaxed.

I made Herbs de Provence quiche for lunch and M made a delicious French sausage/tomato soup with rice for dinner.

Food is big in our family.

M tried to attend Christmas Eve mass but unfortunately the Cathedral was completely full and they were not allowing anyone else in. M also told us about the intense security surrounding the cathedral.

During the entire duration of the Christmas markets Strasbourg has stepped up their security. Not allowing cars onto the island and checking all bags of people entering. They even blocked off a footpath right infront of our apartment. It is sad that the security has to be so intense during the holidays. But as odd as it seems to see men in military uniforms walking down the French streets, it is comforting.
