Oahu/Big Island - Day 1

Off to the Big Island! We woke up and finished some of our groceries then packed and hit the road for the airport. These flights got pretty interesting. The inner island flights transported us in probably the smallest planes I (K) have ever been in. The flight was supposed to be 45 minutes but was maybe 20. PERFECT!

We landed on the big island and drove to our Airbnb. The Big Island is very different from the other islands. The landscape is different, there is not much to do, and not a lot of restaurants or places to eat. It is very rural and not exactly tropical. We stayed just outside of Hilo and opted for a cheap stay to save for a nicer place later on.

We settled in and then went into town to get a few things done. After we found a nice local place for some delicious take out. M tried Hawaiian garlic fries for the first time and they were heavenly.
